New Home Internet Setup Guide
Getting internet set up in a new home doesn't have to be stressful. Follow these steps to get connected as quickly as possible.
Step 1: Check What's Available
Enter your new address or ZIP code in our search tool to see every provider available at your specific address. Don't rely on neighbors' recommendations — availability can vary even within the same building.
Step 2: Compare Plans
Look at: price for the first year, price after promotional period, download AND upload speeds, data caps, contract terms, equipment fees.
Step 3: Order Service
Most providers offer self-install kits that arrive in 3–5 days. Professional installation is available if preferred and usually costs $75–$100.
Step 4: Set Up Your Router
Place your router centrally in your home, elevated off the floor. Use the 5 GHz band for nearby devices (faster) and 2.4 GHz for devices farther away or through walls (better range).
